The unit collaborates with many international organizations to hold seminars in the field of immunology. The 2nd Research Workshop of the Leading University Project for International Cooperation between SKKU Korea and USJ Sri Lanka was held on 22nd September 2022. We had 4 South Korean Professors along with the Leading University Project for International Cooperation coordinators with us.
The postdoctoral researchers as well as the postgraduate students presented their specific work followed by an interactive session of questions and discussion. The presentations covered a broad range of recent research on topics such as Dengue, COVID 19, Microbiome and Allergy.
Workshops at the unit are held to improve the knowledge and expertise of the current staff in order to improve the quality of our research and keep up to date with the latest technology.
Flowcytometry facilities in Sri Lanka are not freely available but our Unit boasts of a BD FACS Aria III flowcytometer that can perform advanced cytometry as well as cell sorting. Therefore we had a team coming in to help us to broaden our scope of use with this progressive facility that is available in our lab.
